As part of the Coro Fellowship in Public Affairs, I was blessed to work as an Account Coordinator for The Miller Group. My four weeks at The Miller Group changed how I looked at community campaigns in marketing from just a pretty social media post to thoughtful and strategic moves to shift public issues. At The Miller Group, I learned that businesses can be forward social thinkers with networks to uplift communities. The clients they work with showed me that mission statements and services give rise to healthy societies and change. Through engaging with staff and management, I learned about thoughtful business acquisitions, client-agency relationship dynamics, and that you can say more with fewer words and powerful images. The people I worked with daily supported my learning and encouraged me to expand my ideas. Despite the virtual environment, they welcomed me into their family and I felt a part of their team.
